How to Open TCP or UDP Communications Port(s) For
Applications or Games (Port Forwarding)
- Browse into the Netopia interface (192.168.1.254)
- Click on the Home tab
- On the left side of the page, click on Expert Mode and click OK
- Click on the Configure tab
- Click on the Advanced link
- Click on the Pinholes link on the right side of the page
- Click the Add button
- Enter the name of the application or game for which the port is forwarded
in the Pinhole Name
- Select the protocol type, TCP or UDP for the port
- Enter the port number in the External Port Start
- If this is range of port numbers, enter the ending port number External
Port End, otherwise enter the same number as External Port Start
- Enter the IP address of the computer you want the port(s) forwarded to.
Click here for the procedure to set a
private static IP address on the network interface card.
- Enter the port number to be used on the computer in the Internal Port
- Repeat the process for each port(s) and click the Submit button
- Click on the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark in the upper right
corner of the screen
- Click on the Save link
- Click on the Restart button in the upper right corner
- Click on Restart the Gateway
