Configuring the Netopia 3341 router for Bridge Mode:

 

1.     Browse into the Cayman router’s web interface.(192.168.1.254)

2.     Click on Home.

3.     Click on Expert Mode.

4.     Click OK.

5.     Click on the configure tab in the upper menu bar.

Note: Click here if your Netopia modem has firmware version 7.5.0 or greater. To determine what firmware version you have, click on the Home tab in the upper left portion of the configuration page and the version number will be on the right side of the page.

6.     Click on the LAN  link in the menu selections.

7.     Click on DHCP Server.

8.     Set Server Mode to OFF.

9.     Click Submit

10. Click on the Advanced link.

11. Click on the Ethernet Bridge link..

12.  Under PPP over Ethernet vcc1 (WAN), “check” the Enable Bridging on Port.

13.  Click on Submit.

14.  Click on the WAN link.

15. Click on ATM

16. Set the VCI accordingly  UE=33   Paradyne=35

17. Click on Submit

18. Click on the WAN link

19.  Click on PPP over Ethernet vcc1.

20.  “Uncheck” the Enable Interface box.

21.  Click on Submit.

22.  Click on the WAN link.

23.  “Uncheck” the Enable Gateway Option box.

24. Click on Submit.

25. Click on the little yellow alert symbol in the upper right of the menu box.

26. Click on Save

27. Confirm that the configuration database has been updated by looking in the lower left corner of the display.

28. Click the Restart button beside the Help button in the upper right of the menu box.

29. Click on the link to Restart the Device

30. Click on Restart the Gateway. The modem will now proceed to restart and permanently save the settings.

 

Bridging procedure for firmware 7.5.0 or greater

  1. Click on the Advanced link

  2. Click on Ethernet Bridge

  3. Click the check box Enable System Bridge

  4. Click on Submit.

  5. Click on the little yellow alert symbol in the upper right of the menu box.

  6. Click on Save

  7. Confirm that the configuration database has been updated by looking in the lower left corner of the display.

  8. Click the Restart button beside the Help button in the upper right of the menu box.

  9. Click on the link to Restart the Device

  10. Click on Restart the Gateway. The modem will now proceed to restart and permanently save the settings.
