How to install and configure WinPoET for Windows 95/98/ME/2000
1. Place the ExpressNet CD in the CDROM drive
2. If the installation program does not automatically launch, click on the Start button and click Run, otherwise skip to step 4 below
3. Click the Browse button and navigate to the CDROM drive which contains the ExpressNet CD, double click on the INSTALL.EXE file and click OK
4. Under Step 1, click the button "Click here to configure" to setup the network interface card
5. In the dropdown list, choose your network interface card (NIC) and click OK
6. At the warning dialog, click Yes to change the NIC configuration and click OK at the confirmation dialog
7. Under Step 2, click "Click here to install" to install the WinPoET software
8.Click Next and then Accept to accept the End User License Agreement
9.Click Next to allow WinPoET to analyze your PC to see if it's compatible (Note: If you receive an error message stating that Dialup Networking (DUN) 1.3 or higher is not installed, click here)
10. Click Next to accept the default destination folder for WinPoET. The installation program will proceed to copy files to your PC
11. Click Finish when prompted and OK to restart your computer
12. Back at the desktop, double click the WinPoET icon on the desktop and and enter the username and password (Note: Append a lowercase "p" to the end of the username)
13. Click Connect and when the Connect dialog box disappears from the screen and the DUN icon (looks like two computer monitors side by side) appears in the System Tray (area by the clock in the lower right of screen) then your PC is successfully connected.
How to configure a PPPoE connection under Windows XP Home and Pro
1. Click Start and then on Control Panel
2. Double click on the Internet Options icon
3. Click on the Connections tab and then on the Setup button at the top of the dialog box
4. This starts the New Connection Wizard. Click on the Next button
5. With a dot beside of "Connect to the Internet", click Next
6. Place a dot beside of "Setup my connection manually", click Next
7. Place a dot beside of "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password", click Next
8. Enter the name of the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and click Next
9. Enter the username and password, remembering to append a lowercase "p" to the end of the username, and click Next
10. Place a check in the box to "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click Finish
11. Double click on the PPPoE connection icon, named for your ISP, on the desktop
12. Enter the username and password supplied to you by your ISP (Note: Append a lowercase "p" to the end of the username)
13. Click Connect and when the Connect dialog box disappears from the screen and the DUN icon (looks like two computer monitors side by side) appears in the System Tray (area by the clock in the lower right of screen) then your PC is successfully connected.
How to upgrade Dial-up Networking to version 1.3 for Windows 95
1. With the ExpressNet CD in the CDROM drive, click Start and Run
2. Click the Browse button and navigate to the CDROM drive
3. Double click on the "32BIT folder"
4. Double click on the "ms-dun v1.3"
5. Double click on the "MSDUN13.EXE file and click OK
6. Follow the prompts to upgrade Dial-up Networking and restart the computer when prompted
