How to Enable/Disable Internet Connection Firewall in
Windows XP
- Click on the Start button and click Control Panel
- In Control Panel, if you're in Classic view you'll see all of the Control
Panel icons and a label underneath each icon. If you're in Category view,
you'll see a list of options under a heading of "Pick a Category". For Classic
view, double click on the Network Connections icon. For Category view, click
on Network and Internet Connections. Click on the Network Connections icon
under the heading of "or pick a Control Panel icon".
- Under the heading "LAN or High-Speed Internet", single right click on the
Local Area Connection using the network interface card (NIC) for your Internet
connection. On the popup context menu, click on Properties.
- Click on the Advanced tab in the Local Area Connection Properties
- If ICF is not enabled, click the check box beside of " Protect my computer
and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the
Internet." If ICF is enabled and you want to disble it, click to clear
the check box.
- Click OK. ICF is now enabled/disabled on your PC.
